Just a bit after, Lowell Mason set the nursery rhyme to a melody adding repetition in the verses. The nursery rhyme has been written as a poem by Sara Josepha Hale and it has been first published in 1830. It’s actually a pretty nice song because it has a nice background story and teaches kids about moral.
